Phenom II and Crossfire

Phenom II and Crossfire

Postby sledgehammer1990 » Mon Feb 02, 2009 3:34 pm

Finally some benchmarks appear that I can relate to my system. They are running 2x 4870's 1Gb in CFX which would equal 1 4870X2.

Source found here

3 systems were set up.

Wow I am surprised at how well the Q9550 did on these games with its setups. As always the i7 comes on top haha but that Phenom isn't far behind.

The phenom II looks like a really good quad core. for amd's flagship processor it doesnt compare to the Core i7 From Intel.

It's not supposed to. The Phenom II is more powerful the and Intel Q9550 and it is cheaper.

Q9550 - $279.99

Phenom II 940 - $229.00
$214 after Promo on Newegg

Also, in some cases, it beats the Core i7 920.

Core i7 920 - $294.99

Edit: The Phenom II beats the Core i7 in 4 of the 7 test done at stock.

Well, I see the Phenom pretty close to the Q9550, but beating it in a lot at stock. I can't to get mine running at 4.5GHz! It's going to be sooo awsome when I go Phase.

Phenom II: $230
Phase change: $400
When Ryan's processor blows up cause of his overclock: priceless

There are some things money can't buy, for everything else there's Sledgehammer

Wow, you really need to rethink your posts.

First off, the Phenom II 940 was only $215. Second, the Phase is going to be about $475. :|, And third, how would I blow up my CPU? It will be running around -29c. No cold bug in this CPU either, and there are others who already have their Phenom II 940 at 4.8GHz on Phase!

Sledge, Where is your scene of humor man? It was just a joke, hence the smiley :). I mean really we don't hope that you blow up your cpu. We are all on the same team here, and the nicer the computers on it the better our team.

I know, I thought it came out kinda harsh. I really didn't mean it like that. I was kinda joking, but I didn't feel like adding smiley faces.

Can't you see how happy I am? :D :) :| :(
